This event will be held at Buckfast Abbey conference centre on Saturday 17th May 10am-3pm. ( Dart View Room 4). Booking is essential and needs to be done through plymouth-crownhill@prcdtr.org.uk Enquiries: 01752 701660.

Day of Prayer for Victims and Survivors of Abuse – Tuesday 20th May The focus for this year’s day of prayer is the theme of “The Empty Chair”. Many of us are saddened by reducing numbers in our churches. This is happening for a wide variety of reasons, but our thoughts are on those who are not there because they have suffered abuse in a church setting and cannot face being here, families or friends of survivors, former members of a community affected by allegations or convictions for abuse and those who are simply so disgusted or ashamed by what they have heard about abuse within the Church that they no longer want to be part of it. All these groups and others are represented by “The Empty Chair”.  If you have been impacted by abuse and would like to speak to someone, please contact the Safeguarding Office on 01364 645430 (Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 4:30pm).

Laudato Si week 2025 - Cathedral Photography Exhibition  Ten years ago, Pope Francis wrote Laudato Si’, setting out a new vision for our common home. Please come along to visit the free exhibition which will be available during the normal opening hours of the Cathedral.

'Rise to our Cause' on Ascension Thursday, 29 May 2025 at St Cuthbert Mayne in Launceston at 12.30pm

I emailed recently asking for your help to promote our third annual fundraising event being held in Cornwall this year at St Cuthbert Mayne in Launceston which is a sacred site of pilgrimage for the Jubilee Year.  As well as celebrating Holy Mass and enjoying a hot two course lunch, parishioners from all over the Diocese might wish to support our event as pilgrims can get their pilgrim passport stamped, and venerate the relic of Cuthbert Mayne.  Included in your newsletter pack is a poster which can be displayed to promote the event and where tickets costing £15 can be purchased from.  This year, we have the wonderful Phil McCarthy as our Guest Speaker who is the Hearts in Search of God Project Lead, who will describe his own walking pilgrimages to Rome and Istanbul in this Jubilee Year.

And The Catholic Children’s Society (Plymouth) newsletter can be found here    https://indd.adobe.com/view/b87b0415-c4cd-477f-8a8a-6bff71a8b2b7

Remember, the children who are taking First Holy Communion classes in Plympton need to stay behind after Sunday Mass.
